Hugh Hefner recently celebrated his 84th birthday, and at his celebration, someone asked him about the possibility of Kate Gosselin posing for Playboy. Those rumors have been circulated before, but nothing ever came of them. Now, by going straight to the horse’s mouth, the official denial has been given. “No! no!” exclaimed Hefner, “I don’t think she’s a celebrity.” Ouch, Hef, way to diss Dancing With The Stars! Of course, she’s not the only celebrity-type person to be turned down by Playboy.
I have to say, if she did do the magazine, it’d probably sell a million copies, just based on curiosity alone. However, thankfully, Hef still has some standards. No matter how much his magazine might be struggling, he’s willing to uphold some standard of behavior. Like it or not, the Playboy brand still has some kind of meaning attached to it, and having a centerfold who’ll need more airbrushing than a cartoon character probably isn’t the right move for them (at least until her price for posing comes way down).
