Now this was too cool not to share. Those mad scientists at Google have put together another great use for Google Earth. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more useful thanks to creating a whole alphabet with images, they’ve done and done more. Now, thanks to Google Earth, you can fly around a photo-realistic 3D map of downtown New York! There’s no telling how many hours this took!
Man, Google Earth is awesome, isn’t it? You can find new lunar craters, hunt for the Loch Ness Monster, and travel around midtown Manhattan just like a ghost. There’s no telling what other stuff is coming down the Google pipeline in the next few years. Maybe tracking your friends live via Google Earth and their Google Chrome netbooks?
There’s no telling. I’d love to see similar 3D tours of Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Moscow… you know, basically any major global city. It’d spark a whole new wave of Google tourism!
