To a certain section of the population, beautiful actress Fernanda Romero is a huge star. At 16, she joined the popular musical group Frizzby, which lead to gigs hosting game shows in her native Mexico. She rose to fame as a star in the Telemundo soap opera Wounded Soul, and since then has come to America, attempting to break into Hollywood. That’s where it is alleged she has run afoul of the law. She’s accused of having entered into a sham marriage to gain American citizenship, with the informant being her ex-boyfriend.
Romero, 28, is accused having paid a pizza delivery guy named Kent Ross to marry her in order for her to gain American citizenship, according to fashion photographer Markus Klinko. Klinko and Romero started dating shortly after her sham marriage was reportedly arranged by Rock & Republic Jeans Company founder Michael Ball. Klinko and Romero dated for some 7 months; when she kicked him to the curb, he dropped the dime on her, reporting her to INS.
While being held on $50,000 bond is rough, at least she’s not being sent to Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s exercise camp. This whole situation is like a bad Mexican soap opera, isn’t it? If Romero does get sent back to her native country, she can always use her newfound fame to score a development deal to write and star in her story for Telemundo! Think of the ratings!
