Dogs are wonderful animals. I love dogs to death, but they’re not the smartest of creatures on the planet. Especially smaller dogs, who have more freedom and ability to explore places they shouldn’t go. When a dog got a little too roaming-happy, firefighters had to be called in to rescue the dog from a recliner. No, the dog wasn’t on the recliner like the one in the picture; this canine was stuck inside the recliner.
Apparently, the dog had gotten into the recliner’s interior and wedged himself into the mechanics. Once the chair stopped working, there was only one way to get the dog out, and that was with a saw and a very steady hand. The only thing that kept the dog from suffocating was the work of a nurse’s aide, who kept the chair wedged open and gave the dog plenty of breathing room.
It only took about five minutes to get the dog freed, but that had to be a horrible five minutes for everyone involved, from the elderly person whose recliner was jammed up to fire crew that had to cut the dog free and, of course, for the dog itself.
