In a feat of gurgitation that would make the guy who ate 1.5 pounds of nails proud, 54-year-old Wang Xianjun has shown both longevity and prowess when it comes to his preferred snack. Wang has eaten light bulbs since he was 12 years old. In total, the 54-year-old man has eaten over 1,500 light bulbs. Sounds crunchy and unpleasant to me, but Wang seems to like them, calling them crispy and delicious!
“I accidentally swallowed a piece of thick fish bone, but nothing happened. With curiosity, I tried several pieces of broken glasses secretly and nothing happened also.” Wang practices his hobby of light bulb eating in a very specific manner, which is probably why he’s escaped injury. “I am not eating it every day, but from time to time. I only eat the light bulb during my breakfast, and each day no more than one bulb.”
Wang first smashes the glass. Then he eats the individual pieces, swallowing them with a glass of water as a chaser. His family in Sichuan, China, has taken him for check-ups, but he’s obviously not showing any ill effects off his light snacks; otherwise, he probably wouldn’t do it.
