Thinking his grandson was asleep, a Chinese grandfather made a run to the store. When he returned, his grandson’s life was hanging, not by a thread, but by his ears. Six year old Ming Ming woke up while his grandfather was gone and went looking for him. Unfortunately for Ming, that trip took him out the window, where he nearly fell to his death. The only thing that saved the boy was his big head, which got caught between two window bars.
The boy, now dangling with his head wedged firmly between the bars, freaked out and started screaming. Onlookers heard his anguished, melon-headed wails and called the fire department. First responders were able to free the boy from between the bars and return him safely to the neglectful custody of his grandfather. A fire department spokesman confirms how dangerous the position was for Ming: “He could have fallen to the ground – or have been suffocated – at any minute.”
In a way, the youngster is lucky that he didn’t snap his neck. That kind of downward body force versus a neck that small? The only thing that saved him from a broken neck was the fact that his neck muscles were so well-developed from supporting that bowling-ball head, which was the only thing that saved him from falling 8 stories to the street below.
I’ll never complain about my huge head again! It just may save my life one day, even if it does make wearing hats difficult.
