Three college-aged men, Jack Watkins, Chris Hayes, and Dave Sibley, had a dream. It’s one of those childhood fantasies that I think everyone has. They wanted to use an inflatable bouncy castle as a boat and use it to paddle across a lake. Given that Jack’s in school to become a lawyer and Chris and Dave are engineers, you’d think they’d have dropped that dream, but no. Instead, they’re living the dream, piloting a bouncy castle on a five-mile boat trip across Lake Garda.
“Great Britain has such a great tradition as a seafaring nation and we really feel we have played no role at all in adding to this,” said Hayes, one of the two engineers. ‘That said, it was possibly the most fun we have ever had and we really never believed this most frivolous of dreams would ever be realized!” The stunt is a part of automaker Honda‘s Live Every Litre project, which is a documentary project featuring people living out dream trips thanks to Honda’s CR-Z hybrid coupe.
The trio accidentally gatecrashed an international sailing regatta, happening on the same lake. No doubt those schooners were traveling much faster than the bouncy castle, which took two hours to travel the five miles from shore to shore. At least they didn’t get lost!
