Way back in 2006, Bob St. Germain got an enormous cell phone bill. It seems his son, Bryan, got a little too data-happy while surfing the web or writing his novel or whatever he was doing, so that month, Bob’s Verizon Wireless bill was a staggering $18,000. This is not the first time teen phone use has gotten out of hand, nor is it the first time Verizon’s pricing policy has been criticized for leading to some huge bills. It might have taken the better part of four years, but Verizon is finally giving up on getting that bill paid.
The company already cut the bill in half once, from $18,000 to $9,000, but when Bob made it clear he wasn’t going to pay that either, they turned it over to a collection agency. They obviously failed to collect, and should be forced to change their name to “agency.” All you have to do is stick to your guns and be willing to take the punishment, and you can fight anything.
