Lots of people run in the Relay For Life, a fundraising effort by the American Cancer Society, but few people go to the lengths that Todd Ragsdale did. Ragsdale did 413 laps around the track at South Medford High School. That’s an impressive 102 miles of running. However, here’s where things get interesting: Ragsdale’s epic run was done barefoot, which earned him a world record for barefoot running distance done in one day.
Between 8 AM Saturday and 8 AM Sunday, Ragsdale ran barefooted on the track near Talent, Oregon. He’s tired, bruised, and battered, but he did it, breaking the world record and raising money for a great cause. Meanwhile, my feet hurt when I walk down the driveway to get the mail without shoes on. You got to hand it to this guy, he put his feet to great use, raising both money and awareness while setting a world record in the process.
