Yes, Lee Dixon was and is one of the most successful criminals of all time. However, just because he’s a thief, that doesn’t make him a bad guy. The 35-year-old unemployed man from Frome, Somerset, admits to breaking in to over 105 properties and stealing a staggering £120,000, but how he did it was what was unusual. Yes, he broke in, but he always kept damage to a minimum and sometimes, after taking the valuables, he’d clean up after himself or do the dishes.
Lee is one of those new breed of criminals who robs not to support a drug habit or gambling addiction, but because he’s simply a guy out of work and the economy isn’t cooperative enough to allow him to get a new job. At least he’s productive, and not wasting time on the computer.
Amazingly, once he was nicked, he’s been as cooperative as possible with the police. Said amazed constable Nicola Caffery, “He has been co-operative throughout and admitted to each burglary. We drove him to areas where we thought he may have committed one and he took us to where they happened. He hasn’t come to police notice before, and there were no drugs involved or gambling debts, he worked alone just to support his everyday living. We are delighted to have caught him, it was a needle in a haystack job. He is such a normal type of guy, he doesn’t stand out at all.”
Well, he stands out in one way: he’s a man that willingly does the dishes. That’s pretty rare, amirite ladies?
