When you’re a business predicated on clowns, one of the biggest problems you have with your customer base is that so many people are afraid of clowns, so John Lawson’s Circus is offering free counseling for people who fear clowns.  Clowns, of course, are the third-most feared item, just after spiders and needles.

“It is surprising how many people seem to be frightened of clowns,” said ringmaster Attila Enderesz.  “Although you would always expect to see a clown at the circus, some people react with terror.  And I’m talking about the adults.”

The main culprit for this cown fear, according to Enderesz?  Why, the media and their deliberately scary clowns, of course!  If it wasn’t for television, nobody would have or get coulrophobia!  Because clowns on their own aren’t scary until you add in TV, apparently.
