After giving a 57-year-old Texas woman a lift from the airport, New Orleans cabbie Sohail Kahn did what most people in that situation would do. He held out his hand for his payment and expected a 10% tip. When the woman paid, but didn’t fork over a tip, he responded in the logical fashion. He locked the woman in his cab and refused to let her out until she tipped him.
The woman, understandably, freaked out and called the police after arguing with the driver for half-an-hour. All of this over $3.30, which is a 10 percent tip on the woman’s $33-dollar cab ride. I’m not quite sure who is dumber here. The woman should’ve just given Kahn a few bucks after paying her fare and saved herself 30 minutes of imprisonment; Kahn should’ve just let the woman go and cursed at her behind her back, while still thankful he didn’t get robbed by some costumed thugs.
Two wrongs don’t make a right, and two idiots means someone’s going to jail.
