Using the magic of DNA, researchers believe they’ve found a way to make a single shot that could take care of hay fever, eczema, and allergies all in one go. Not just environmental allergens, either, we’re talking food allergies like peanuts! The vaccine, called CYT003-Qbg10, has been developed by Cytos Biotechnology and is based off the DNA of tuberculosis. That DNA fools the body, triggering a full-fledged response from the immune system that smothers all the above-mentioned annoyances in one fell swoop!
Every morning, I get up and take a pill for my allergies and I take a nasal spray. Even that isn’t enough to make my life bearable. If this magical shot makes it through clinical trials and gets introduced in America within the next 5 years as promised, it could be a game-changer for me and millions of other people like me who are basically allergic to the air for 9 months out of the year. From April until October, I’m constantly suffering from allergies (and from November until February, I’m having nosebleeds from dried-out sinuses).
