Sullivan’s Island is a quaint, quiet little town in South Carolina, and they’d like to keep it that way, so you’d better keep your mouth shut. To further keep the peace, the town is actually considering passing a banning on singing, hooting, whistling, and all other annoying noises, not just overnight but anywhere they might be obnoxious to other people. Guy talking in a cell phone in the bathroom, they’re coming for you! Whistler in the hallway, you’re next!
The unusual noise ordinance is actually a copycat law of the one in North Charleston, South Carolina, which also bans such annoying noises. The town’s current noise ordinance already prohibits amplified music, as well as Scrying, calling, shouting, whistling, rattling, using a bell, gong, clapper, horn or hammer, drum or making about any other loud noise imaginable after 10 PM (11 PM on weekends). So keep it down, boy who sings like Whitney Houston; we’re not always gonna love you. If you have to rock, do it quietly.
