Oh, vuvuzelas.  What can’t you do?  For starters, what the vuvuzela can’t do is not annoy everyone who ever comes across it (except for South Africans, apparently).  They’re invading US sports, they’re ruining the World Cup, and now the invention of Neil Van Schalkwyk is driving people mad.  At least, that’s the reasoning as to why an American man in Weiden, Germany, threatened his neighbors with an ax.

The American, a 45-year-old civilian contractor with the US Army based in Germany, has been so tormented by the constant tooting of his neighbor’s vuvuzelas that he finally snapped, storming over there during the Cameroon-Netherlands game while brandishing an ax and threatening to kill his neighbors.  He was released into German custody by US military police, where he faces charges of slander (for the name-calling) and making a threat.

Of course, he could have just taken a page from this dog driven into viral video fame for her response to vuvuzelas and relieved himself on their carpet while in their living room.
