Ken Savage is a scorned man. Ken, 38, discovered that his wife was cheating on him thanks to the magic that is Facebook. It started out innocently enough, but soon she was hiding her screen from him when he came into the room. That’s why Ken says that Facebook’s main uses aren’t just chatting with friends or playing Farmville, but also infidelity, describing the Facebook website as “a tool for an affair.” Is he bitter, or is he right?
According to a survey of divorce attorneys, he’s right. Some 81 percent of divorce lawyers have seen an increase in cases where social networking stuff is presented in the case, with 66 percent saying that Facebook is people’s exhibit number one when it comes to cheaters getting divorced, no doubt followed closely behind by dirty text messages. As for Ken, he was driven by his experience to launch FacebookCheating.com, a website/support group designed to help others get over their spouse’s infidelity via electronic means.
