It’s hard to think that people could get mad over this sort of thing, but commuter trains in Germany were delayed for nearly two hours by, of all things, a family of ducks. The ducks had settled down near the train tracks at Kiel Central Station in Germany and, rather than turn the ducks into pate, they decided to rescue them instead. So as the train schedule was discarded, police swooped in to scoop up the adorable ducks and rescue them from the tracks.
Ducks are so adorable, yet they’re so prone to getting themselves into trouble, with their little flippery feet and waddly walk. The baby ducklings got stuck and couldn’t get off the tracks, and their mother wouldn’t leave them behind, so police had to intervene. Mama duck and her babies are all fine; they were rescued and put out to safety in a nearby pond. As for the commuters? “Lots of workers were late, but they had a good excuse,” said a spokesperson for the railroad station.
