Last night was the night for Hollywood to gather in celebration of its favorite subject–itself! The 2010 Emmy awards were a night of fun and frolic, especially for those folks lucky enough to take home trophies for their work throughout the previous year. It was also the end of an era for a few shows, the continuation of an era for some other shows, and a night of fashion, speeches, and lots and lots of pretending to look okay with the fact that you just got snubbed for one of the top honors of your industry.
In the drama category, the biggest winner was Mad Men, which took home the awards for best drama and best writing in a drama series; the same double was pulled off by upset winner Modern Family in the comedy category, as that show also won best comedy and best writing (ending a three-year run of 30 Rock dominance). In the mini-series categories, it was the night of Temple Grandin, as the movie about an autistic woman took home best direction, best miniseries, best actress, best supporting actor, and outstanding made-for-TV movie. Apparently, it’s REALLY good, or REALLY had no competition.
Here’s a list of the complete winners from last night’s awards ceremony.
