How do you pass the time when you’re stuck in a hole miles underground, in cramped conditions, with nothing but bottled water, field rations, and chemical toilets for comfort? Why, you take a cue from every other shut-in and play video games! Those unfortunate Chilean miners trapped in the rescue shelter for the next few months have gotten some much-needed entertainment in the form of a care package of Sony PSP portable video game systems.
When you’re playing video games, being trapped underground doesn’t sound so bad! Given that the PS3 is future-proofed, one would hope that the trapped miners can get several months’ worth of entertainment from Sony’s more portable game device. Of course, since they’re trapped without electricity, those guys are going to need an awful lot of batteries for the non-stop gaming sessions they’ll undoubtedly get into for the next few months.
You’d think that eventually the games would get boring, but I imagine anything is better than hearing about Rodrigo’s trip to Disney World for the 137th time.
