It’s Wednesday, September 29, which means that it’s a very special day today. That’s right, if you remember from last year, September 29 is Coffee Day, so suck back a cup of java in honor of the world’s most favorite (legal) morning pick-me-up. In honor of Coffee Day and coffee in general, Career Builder and Dunkin’ Doughnuts did a survey to determine which profession drank the most coffee, and the most caffeinated crew are health care workers like nurses and physicians.
Amazingly, nurses topped the list, followed by doctors. Finishing out the top 12 spots were hotel workers, designers/architects, financial/insurance sales representatives, food preparers, engineers, teachers, marketing/PR professionals, scientists, machine operators, and government workers. I’m a little surprised government workers weren’t higher on the list; there’s a coffee machine or three in every government office I’ve ever been in, so somebody’s got to be drinking it. Maybe all those extra-large Starbucks runs at the hospital balance out the constant, steady trickle of java into the government offices.
There’s nothing as beautiful as a well-made cup of coffee.
