I went to a lovely wedding over the weekend. The bride and groom were wonderful, the location was great, and the ceremony was beautiful, but what every person remembers about every wedding is the food. When it comes to a wedding, that’s the most important thing for the potential bride and groom to remember. In Hong Kong, you don’t have to worry about the food, because McDonalds has you covered. McDonald’s three Hong Kong locations are offering McWeddings, a McDonald’s wedding planning service.
“Traditional weddings use cherries for the newlyweds to eat together and kiss. We will have French fries for them to kiss,” said McDonald’s director of corporate communications and relations Helen Cheung. “People said they’d dated here (McDonald’s restaurants), or met here, and wanted to get married here … We see this as a business chance.”
It’s an interesting idea, but if you can get married in a Home Depot, you should be able to tie the knot in a McCafe. That’d be pretty nice, and you’d have coffee right there on the premises for all involved! Sorry about your luck, McDonald’s-free Iceland. Looks like you’ll have to get married in a Burger King or something.
