It’s a movie that launched several careers, and all it took were some roofies. When Todd Phillips took the reigns of the raucous guy comedy The Hangover, he was making stars out of pretty-boy Bradley Cooper, doughy comedian Zach Galifianakis, movie character acter Ken Jeong, and TV supporting player Ed Helms. While he was at it, he also took an extended cameo from Mike Tyson and completely rehabilitated Tyson’s image. Not too shabby! Now, the latest star to make an attempt at revitalizing his career via Todd Phillips’ magic touch is rumored to be Mel Gibson, who is slated to make a cameo as a tattoo artist in The Hangover 2.
This time, the boys go to Bangkok, Thailand, where Mr. Chow pops up to make more trouble for the quartet of Cooper, Galifianakis, Helms, and Justin Bartha. According to actress Sasha Barrese, Gibson’s appearance is “the best cameo you’ve ever seen in your entire life.” While that’s going to be hard to accomplish, if anyone can pull it off, it’s the world’s most famous Australian. I just wonder how they’re going to work a tiger into the second movie.
