Just a few days after an escaping alligator caused a horrible crash in the Congo, a runaway hamster nearly repeated the event on a flight from Britain to Brisbane, Australia. The flight, from Royal Brunei airlines, was halfway to Brisbane when a hamster escaped in the middle of the flight. This caused the plane to be grounded in Brunei after the cabin crew saw the hamster running around in the cabin of the plane. The plane was evacuated and fumigated, delaying the flight by an hour.
Of course, there are easier ways to catch a hamster. Chief among these would be to deploy a hungry snake. Then again, you can’t have snakes on a plane; I remember that movie and that idea didn’t really work out well for anyone involved. You could always just deploy a Zhu Zhu pet and hope it tricks the hamster into coming out of hiding.
