Cab driver James Anderson might be working the mean streets of Missoula, Montana, and not New York City or New Orleans, but I have no doubt he’s seen strange stuff. All cab drivers are generally exposed to weirdness; however, a recent fare of Anderson’s has proven to be weirder than even the cabbie expected. As it turns out, a bank robber was using James Anderson’s cab as a getaway car.
Anderson picked the fare up at a Missoula coffee shop. Apparently, the man was acting strangely. First, he asked to be taken to the University of Montana campus, but couldn’t give a specific location. Then, he asked to be taken to pick up a pack of cigarettes. Finally, he asked to be taken to a hotel. When the cab arrived at the hotel, the police were waiting. Anderson got paid the $7.50 fare, plus a $5 tip, then his passenger was arrested on charges of bank robbery.
Hey, it could’ve been worse. He could’ve taken off his clothes and stolen the cab. Still, he could’ve cut out the middleman and just used 911 as his taxi; that would’ve made the trip between the bank and jail a lot shorter.
