They say it’s dangerous to wake up a sleepwalking person, but sometimes it’s more dangerous not to wake them up. For instance, take the case of 63-year-old somnambulist Sanford Rothman of Boulder, Colorado. One minute, Rothman is asleep. The next minute, he wakes up in searing pain, bleeding from the leg. As it turns out, Sanford Rothman shot himself in the leg while sleepwalking.
Well, in a situation like this, I advise looking on the bright side. Sanford, you shot yourself in the leg. Yes, it hurts, but it could’ve been a lot worse. You could’ve shot yourself in the face, for one. Alternately, you could’ve accidentally set yourself on fire. Either one makes a leg wound look like a stubbed toe by comparison.
Still, maybe it’s time to move the 9mm pistol from the nightstand and maybe put it on the top shelf of the closet or something.
