Caitlin Burke said, “I’ve got a good feeling about this.”  That wasn’t her description of the situation she was in, but her guess as to the answer to a Wheel of Fortune jackpot puzzle that she made based off a single letter.  Using only the placement of the L, 26-year-old Caitlin Burke successfully solved the Wheel of Fortune puzzle and won a Caribbean vacation in one of the most amazing jackpots in television game show history.  It’s an amazing feat, made even more amazing by the stunned reaction of long-time Wheel host Pat Sajack.  The only one who wasn’t surprised?  Caitlin herself, of course.

“I’m not bragging.  There’s a million and one things I’m not good at, but for some reason, I don’t know, I’ve always just been really good at Wheel of Fortune,” said the modest Burke, who lives in New York.  When asked for advice she might give other Wheel contestants, Burke said, “Watch the show and think positive.  If you have a good feeling about something, just go for it!”

Wheel of Fortune is the classic game show from Merv Griffin Enterprises and Sony Pictures Studio in which contestants spin a giant prize wheel, then guess letters to solve a word-based puzzle using a clue given by the show’s host.  It’s like a combination of roulette and a crossword puzzle.
