A fire started in Pittsburgh’s Greenfield neighborhood had a very unusual genesis. As it turns out, the fire that engulfed Leonard Spagnolo’s home was started out of spite. There wasn’t any arson involved. Spagnolo was burning his ex-girlfriend’s photographs when the fire got out of control and spread throughout the room. The firey send-off for Spagnolo’s ex was the result of a fight with his current girlfriend, for which Spagnolo was arrested.
Spagnolo shoved his girlfriend against a wall during the fight, which was apparently over some photos and other items related to Spagnolo’s ex-girlfriend. The fire was started deliberately on the floor of the room; however, it got out of control by accident. Fire fighters responded, putting out the blaze before it spread into the rest of the house.
See, kids? This is why you see fires started in trash cans, not just in random piles of trash in the middle of the room. Those hobos may be drunk and smelly, but they’re pretty crafty.
