It must be hard to be an over-40 sex symbol. For years, Pamela Anderson was one of the most beautiful and famous women in the world. As lifeguard CJ Parker, 43-year-old Anderson went from little-known Playboy Playmate to international megastar in the blink of an eye. Then, Baywatch ended its legendary run, and Anderson’s star slowly came back to earth. She’s still a big deal, relatively speaking, but once upon a time she’d never do something like what she’s doing now. Pamela Anderson is set to jet to India to join India’s version of Big Brother.
Anderson will be joining the Indian program Bigg Boss for an unspecified time, meaning she’ll be flying to India to an undisclosed location near Mumbai for the taping of the world’s most popular reality television program. It makes me wonder which TV star visiting is a bigger deal for India: Anderson or Obama? I’m thinking Anderson; the average Indian might be vaguely aware of President Obama, but Anderson? She was EVERYWHERE in the late 90’s. Baywatch was watched by 1.1 billion people at its peak; she ought to have a Q rating off the charts even on the subcontinent.
