When it comes to comic book movies, they tend to be a mixed bag.  Either they’re really good, or really bad.  When it comes to the upcoming Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, a test pilot who finds a crash-landed alien and gets a ring of immeasurable power, I’m not sure what to think.  The first trailer for the big-budget DC Comics adaptation of Green Lantern hits movie theaters this weekend ahead of screenings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, but you don’t have to brave the hordes of wand-waving muggles to see it.  Just check out the embedded trailer below.

I have to admit, I’m not exactly sold on how the movie looks.  Or rather, how the first trailer looks.  it looks a little bit weird in color, like it’s going to be in 3D and they haven’t adjusted the color yet.  Or maybe it’s the special effects that aren’t working for me quite yet.  I’ll withhold judgment until I see the trailer on the big screen, but so far I’m not sold.
