It’s a shocking, horrible event. Two twin sisters, natives of Victoria, Australia, either killed themselves, had a murder-suicide, or perhaps a horrible accident. The Aussie twins shot one another in the head, simultaneously, at the Family Shooting Center outside of Denver. The two took a taxi to the facility, in Arapahoe County’s Cherry Creek State Park, where they shot off rounds from small-caliber hand guns for about 90 minutes, chatting and behaving normally. Then, as if on cue, the two were shot in the head.
“The ladies hit the pavement virtually at the same time,” said Doug Hamilton, owner of Family Shooting Center. “They were definitely normal. We are always aware and watching for signs. There was absolutely no indication.” Said Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Captain Louie Perea, “All scenarios are on the table,” though it is strongly believed to be a double suicide attempt.
The twins, who were 29, were in the United States legally. One was scheduled to return to Australia today. Now, that won’t happen. One went to the morgue, the other intensive care. Their names were not released, pending notification of the family.
