There have been a lot of funny commercials over the years, but I have to take my hat off to Kevin Bacon.  It’s not that I actively dislike the guy, I just wish he’d keep his pants on when he’s in front of a movie camera.  He’s been one of my personal punchlines for years.  However, I have to admit it’s nice to know that he’s more than willing to laugh at himself, too.  Witness one of the funniest commercials I’ve ever seen; Kevin Bacon playing Kevin Bacon’s biggest fan in a new commercial for the Logitech Revue.

So what’s the Logitech Revue?  Well, it’s basically a TiVo-like DVR based off of Google TV technology.  If you want to hunt down all the Kevin Bacon movies and watch them, you hit his name into the search bar and Google TV hunts down the best bits of Bacon from the TV and across the Internet.  It’s definitely a handy-looking service, even if you’re not a Baconator.  The commercial is memorable and funny, and it even tells you exactly what the product does in a clear, understandable way.

What’s your favorite line?  Mine has to be when Bacon’s biggest fan says, “My wife says if I watch any more Kevin Bacon, I might actually turn into Kevin Bacon,” followed by the above crossed fingers and thrilled grin.  The fact that he quoted my favorite Bacon movie, Tremors, only adds to the fun of the ad.
