In April, 2008, Wesley Snipes was convicted of failing to file taxes and was sentenced to three years in prison. He’s been fighting that conviction since then. However, Wesley Snipes has been unsuccessful and will be going to prison for three years. Yesterday afternoon, Wesley Snipes reported to McKean Federal Correctional Institute in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania, to begin his jail sentence for failing to file taxes for several years. Snipes, best known as an action movie star from the Blade Trilogy and Passenger 57, admitted to being nervous before his time in the joint.
“I think any man would be nervous,” said Snipes, who has five children from two marriages, including four children with wife Nikki Park. “Given the length of time that they are suggesting that I be away from my family, away from my profession, away from my ability to provide for my family and for those who have depended upon me to contribute to society…I think anyone would be nervous about that.”
However, this isn’t the first time Wesley Snipes had issues with the law. I remember in the mid-90’s when he escaped from San Angeles prison in the near-future and went on a rampage until Sylvester Stallone had to be unfrozen and sent to catch him with the help of Sandra Bullock and Benjamin Bratt. Oh wait, that’s the plot of Demolition Man. Never mind. It’s a shame Snipes isn’t in Congress; Charles Rangel hasn’t paid taxes in two decades and he’s a free man.
