It seemed like the day would never come, but here we are. Tonight, Thursday, December 16, 2010, will be the final episode of Larry King Live. After a staggering 25-year run of success, Larry King’s time behind the desk at CNN will finish up. Larry King is retiring his suspenders, at least as far as daily television goes, and will be heading off into the sunset to work on his other career as… a freelance host and producer for CNN, pumping out specials for the company where he’s served for so many years.
I won’t pretend to be a Larry King fan. I’ve never watched his show and only barely remember his national late-night talk show being on my local radio station from my days as a child insomniac. However, when it comes to Lawrence Harvey Zeiger the man, BKA Larry King? Huge fan. He’s one of the most entertaining guests I’ve ever seen on a talk show, and his storytelling is second only to his ability to fire off a good joke. If you’ve never seen him on TV, he’s great. Very funny and definitely worth checking out.
Piers Morgan Tonight will be taking over Larry King’s time slot in January 2011.
