Another day, another Google lawsuit. While some folks look at images of themselves caught on Google Street View and change their lives for the better, other folks catch themselves on Street View, have a freak-out, and completely lose their minds. One Japanese woman didn’t even have to make an appearance on Street View to trigger a mental breakdown, she just had to see her underwear online, hanging from a clothesline. Citing psychological damage, a Japanese woman whose clothesline full of underwear was shown on Google Street View is suing the company for 600,000 yen (about $7169 dollars).
“I was overwhelmed with anxiety that I might be the target of a sex crime,” the woman told Japan’s Mainichi newspaper. “It caused me to lose my job and I had to change my residence. I could understand if it was just a picture of the outside of the apartment, but showing a person’s underwear hanging outside is absolutely wrong.”
Here’s a pro tip. If you don’t want people to see your underwear, don’t hang them out your window. That’s what I do! That said, I hope this woman never goes to the airport. When the TSA gets ahold of her, she might end up becoming a vegetable.
