Here’s a tip, both for you home owners and you would-be criminals. If you’re a home-owner looking to keep his TV around awhile in spite of robberies, then I suggest you buy the biggest television you can afford. If you’re a criminal, then I suggest getting a van or pickup truck for your getaway vehicle if you’re going to go around robbing houses. Three burglars found this out the hard way. A group of robbers were forced to abandon a big-screen TV after discovering it was too big to fit in their Lexus getaway car.
That’s right, for their getaway car they chose a Lexus, only one of the most popular luxury vehicles in the world. When I think of ways to transport my stolen television, I think of a luxury automobile. Not a pickup, not a van, not a hatchback, but a Japanese Cadillac. The worst part for the thieves (and the owner) is that they broke into the home’s back door, took the television outside, then simply left it on the curb when they realized they couldn’t squeeze it into the trunk of their car.
All that work for no reward! I guess it’s true what they say: crime doesn’t pay. Well, crime doesn’t pay if you’re stupid, anyway.
