I understand that politics, by and large, is boring.  It’s meetings and hearings and committees and Robert’s Rules of Order and just writing this sentence makes me want to fall asleep.  I get that you need to keep yourself entertained during these things, or at least keep yourself awake.  However, I don’t think that browsing an escort service’s website is the best way to do so.  Italian politician Simeone Di Cagno Abbrescia was caught searching on an escort website on his iPad.

Fittingly, the politician was caught looking at half-naked women during a hearing concerning a vote of no confidence for Italian Culture Minister Sandro Bondi.  Bondi won his vote, but Di Cagno Abbrescia was left with egg on his face and an iPad full of escorts.  Hey, at least it wasn’t street hookers trying to cross the street, right?

“I was looking at my messages when a window opened up and I couldn’t help looking at the pictures of those lovely girls.   Sometimes these messages from girls just pop up when you are looking at your email.  I have never been with an escort,” stated Di Cagno Abbrescia.

He further explained that his browsing the site was because his “finger slipped” and brought up the images.  Given that he was caught searching through the multiple images on the site, apparently his finger slipped several times.  It’s fitting that Di Cagno Abbrescia, a former mayor of Bari, Italy, is a supporter of Silvio Berlusconi, whose own Sheen-like love of hookers is well known.
