While the game took place deep in the heart of Texas, it may as well have been on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field as far as the Green Bay Packers were concerned. The Pack stormed out to an early lead and then managed to hang onto it for the rest of the game, playing well enough to keep themselves ahead of the hard-charging Pittsburgh Steelers. The Green Bay Packers are the world champions of American football, as Green Bay beat Pittsburgh 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV.
Unfortunately, there was no Super Bowl overtime, so no free pizza from Papa John’s. Still, the game itself was a great contest, very tough and with lots of offensive fireworks to go around thanks to the arm of Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay quarterback outplayed his rival on the only field that matters, keeping turnovers to a minimum while scoring three touchdowns and completing 24 of 39 passes for 304 yards.
While Madden 11 was wrong about the final outcome, it was right about the quarterback play making all the difference. The Lombardi trophy is going back home to Titletown, USA.
