Last year’s Super Bowl was one of the most-watched television programs of all time. It was fun and all, but last year’s Super Bowl ratings are nothing compared to this year’s Super Bowl ratings. Super Bowl XLV is the most-watched television program of all time. That’s right, something has FINALLY dethroned the finale of MASH and claimed the top TV spot of all time, and it’s the biggest game of the year in the National Football League.
The overnight rating suggests that 111 million people tuned into the Super Bowl on Sunday. That’s bolstered by the incredible 47.9 metered household rating, 3 percent higher than the previous Super Bowl high. Predictably, the ratings in Pittsburgh and Green Bay were huge, but Super Bowl XLV was the most-watched non-New York Super Bowl in New York City. The Super Bowl has broken ratings records for four years in a row, and the show’s viewers have gone from high to incredible since 2005. Staggering!
