Oh Tiger.  When you made your comeback from an adultery scandal, you promised to clean up your act and lighten up on the course.  For awhile, you did okay, but that didn’t last too long.  At the Dubai Desert Classic this week, Tiger Woods cursed and spit on the greens and was rude to fans off the greens, thereby reinstating himself as the number one biggest jerk in golf.  At least he’s number one in something, right?

“It’s not nice, it’s not the way it should be,” said Denis Pugh, a swing coach to several professional golfers.  “It brings the game into disrepute in a way that youngsters watching Tiger Woods rightly think he’s a great player and a great champion and thinking it’s ok to do something that it is actually not ok to do.  You shouldn’t be spitting on the green.  Apart from how bad it looks, you’ve left a deposit on the green that others may or may not have to walk on or putt through.  It’s just not right.  It’s horrible really.”

Is this display of disgust appropriate given that it’s outdoors and not on a basketball court or something?  Perhaps not, but considering golfers usually care for the greens like they’re caring for a loved one, then perhaps so.
