In the past, resilient author J.S. Chancellor and her publisher, Rhemalda, have been able to turn something bad into something good. When her book Son of Erebus showed up in pirated copies online, rather than pursue with legal action, they decided to have readers post reviews to their blogs, Facebook, or Goodreads. This worked like a charm, so now J.S. Chancellor and Rhemalda will be giving away her latest book, Son of Erebus, Book One of the Guardians of Legend Trilogy, for free.
The goal is the same goal your neighborhood drug dealer has. The first taste is free, but you have to pay for the rest. Rhemalda is hoping that once you get a taste of Chancellor’s fantasy world, you’ll buy the second and third books at retail price (and post some positive praise of the book for those who aren’t content thieves).
As a book reviewer myself, this is very tempting. I may just check this book out, since it’s free and all, and let you guys know what I think.
