Angry Birds – there’s an app for that.

And now there’s a cake for that.

Who says you can’t play with your food?

Our most recent nominee for Father of the Year has to be Mike Cooper, who fashioned an Angry Birds birthday cake for his son’s sixth celebration of a trip around the sun.

Not only does it involve sugar coma-inducing versions of the colorful yet angry flock and the targets of their wrath, those porcine purloiners, it’s also playable with a working slingshot.

Cooper spent about 10 hours constructing the table-top cake of Angry Birds and then videoed his son’s joy at shooting the cardinals and canaries at his version of the sweet Jenga-like towers.

In addition to the original short video that showed part of the cake’s creation and its full demolition at the hands’ of Cooper’s son Ben, the master chef and super dad has added a how-to guide to his site so anyone can now make their own.

Now who wants to bake me a cake?
