Last October, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber were racing neck and neck to become the first artist to crack one billion YouTube views.  Gaga beat Bieber by a grand total of two weeks; now, four months later, a third artist has joined the billion views club.  Eminem videos have been viewed a grand total of one billion times, according to YouTube sources.  That total includes only official videos on Eminem’s various channels on YouTube.  Other video sharing websites and uploads other than those to Eminem’s YouTube/Vevo channel do not count in the numbers.

It is believed that Eminem’s recent milestone is only the first of a few milestones waiting to happen for YouTube.  The online video company is more popular than television at this point, and when it comes to music videos, YouTube and online video sources are the ONLY way to actually see music videos, unless you’re willing to do some deep exploration of your local cable system to discover the four music channels that play music.
