There’s one thing you generally can’t do when you work for someone. You can’t go around and slander them behind their back with impunity. Discussing legitimate issues is one thing, but hurling personal insults is something else entirely. Charlie Sheen, whose personal and health problems are well known, doesn’t do politeness or common sense, apparently. A recent Charlie Sheen rant saw him going after his employers, Chuck Lorre and CBS, with vicious abandon. Here’s what Sheen said during his rant.
“There’s something this side of deplorable that a certain Chaim Levine — yeah, that’s Chuck’s real name — mistook this rock star for his own selfish exit strategy, bro. Check it, Alex: I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that his unevolved mind cannot process,” rambled Sheen. “Last I checked, Chaim, I spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold. And the gratitude I get is this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write.”
As for Lorre, he chose not to comment, either about Sheen’s ravings or CBS pulling his show from production for the time being. The 24-episode season has been shortened to 16 thanks to the move, though the show was already on hiatus due to Sheen’s entering (and leaving) rehab. Sounds like someone’s done with Two and a Half Men permanently.
I mean, attacking the quality of the show is one thing, but to attack your boss for changing his name to something more showbiz friendly when you’ve changed your name to Charlie Sheen from Carlos Irwin Estevez is something else entirely. You can’t distance yourself from your Hispanicness then attack someone for distancing himself from his Jewishness. That’s just hypocrisy.
