Everyone knows that fat cartoon cat Garfield has a thing for lasagna, but who knew the multi-layered pasta could lead to an arrest.
That’s what happened in Italy when a fugitive returned home for a sampling of his wife’s famous dish.
There are certain meals that only a mother or spouse can recreate to satisfy our taste buds. That was the case for Giancarlo Sabatini.
Wanted by police and on the lam for a decade on drug trafficking charges, Sabatini’s craving for lasagna was his downfall.
Police were recently tipped off and staked out his wife’s home. They followed his daughter as she carried a steaming pan of lasagna back to her house, where they found the cocaine dealer licking his chops.
Instead of returning for his wife’s dish, Sabatini might have been better off eating out at one of the places on the Center for Science in the Public Interest’s list of most extremely unhealthy restaurants.
