The saying goes, “I don’t know much about art, but I know what I like.”
Well, most of the time I appreciate realism in art. There are a few artists like Picasso who can get away with putting one distorted eyeball on a lady in a painting, but most creative types can’t pull it off.
The one career you’d think would require strict attention to realistic detail and a ton of talent would be in the field of police sketch artists.
Looking at the example above, I’m not exactly sure this artist was qualified for the position.
It looks like a failed submission to that art school where you draw Tippy the Turtle to get in. That’s one honker of a nose. I’ve seen less eyeliner used by goth bands. And what’s with the criminal’s eyes looking to the left?
Speaking of eyes, I’m guessing blind artist John Bramblitt could do a better job than some of these.
I’m just trying to imagine what sort of picture the artist would draw if he had to create a depiction of the barber shop client who stabbed a man mid-haircut and went on the lam before his afro was completely trimmed down.
