Thanks to the Internet, the goofy stuff we do when boredom takes control can now be shared with people the globe over.

One man puts 2222 toothpicks into his beard, films the process, posts it online and the next thing you know Youtube is glutted with videos of men turning their facial hair into porcupine replicas.

George Gaspard, the original toothpick facial hair dude, has become an unexpected inspiration.

Apparently the goal of 3000 toothpicks still eludes the beard bedecked population of the planet.

For those who are follicly challenged, but still want to try to attach 3000 versions of the little wooden wonder that is the toothpick to their face, they might want to purchase a beard head.

I’m guessing it’s going to take one righteous, ZZ Top-style fuzzy face to accomplish the 3000 mark.
