One of the worst things about working for a living is figuring out a way to kill time with limited access to the Internet. I mean, you can use the web, but good luck getting to any of your favorite online game websites. Of course, you could sit on WordsWithFriends on your iPhone all day, but that doesn’t look like it’s being productive, it looks like you’re playing games. That’s where RobinWords comes in. RobinWords is a very fun new word game that’s played in your web browser versus a computer opponent.
Here’s how RobinWords works: You start out with a four-letter word. Every round, one letter of the word gets changed to form a new word. Then you respond and do the same. You may start out with a familiar word and end up in a completely different place with a completely new word. The goal is to out-talk the computer (good luck with that).
Given that the computer makes the first word choice, you may beat it easily or lose in a long, drawn-out game. The computer is also the final arbiter of what words are allowed and what words are forbidden, which is good because it stops the rule arguments, but bad because the computer may not recognize some common words (like rang, for instance).
