Wedding proposals are a tricky proposition. The hopeful man has to be 100 percent sure he’ll get a positive response before he pops the big question.
Asking the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with if she’s willing to make that commitment in a public place definitely requires confidence. Whether it’s a well-manicured lawn, a window on a street corner or a trip into the sewer, public proposals have come a long way from the scoreboard proposition at the big game and the video below is proof of that.
When Matt Still decided to ask his beloved Ginny Joiner to marry him, he turned a cute phrase they shared to describe their relationship – “Making the Movies Jealous” – into a theme for his proposal. Still created a movie trailer and then got a local theater to agree to cooperate and air the video. Still then got his future brother-in-law to take Joiner to see a movie. She didn’t know that many of their friends and family were also in the darkened theater. A video camera captured her reaction as familiar voices boomed through the theater. When the video concluded, Still raced into the theater, dropped to a knee and made things official.
