The lowest of the low budget films ha,s over time, become a cult classic with a legion of fans. The Evil Dead, starring B-movie hero Bruce Campbell, who may or may not have anything to do with soup, was followed by two sequels and a ton of fan love. There have been video games and apps that show the exploits of Campbell’s character Ash.

Fans have begged and pleaded for a follow-up flick for a long while. Now the internet is buzzing, not about a sequel, but about a remake.

It seems the original movie’s director Sam Raimi, who went on to helm the first Spider-Man flick among others, and Campbell are helping produce a remake of The Evil Dead since Campbell is a little long in the tooth to fend off the demons as he did in ye olden days.

And to punch up the script, they’ve brought on board Diablo Cody, according to a press release.

So whether you eventually see it in a theater or use Netflix to stream it or get the DVD in the mail, this is one movie you’ll definitely want to check out. I know I am looking forward to seeing it.
