And now one of the few remaining mysteries surrounding the King of Rock N Roll has been solved.
The question of who was the vivacious woman touching tongues with the young singer in the picture above has an answer. The woman in photographer Al Wertheimer’s iconic pic often referred to as “The Kiss” is Barbara Gray.
Now 75, the object of Elvis’ attention in 1956 led quite a life, including posing for nude photos and getting to know several famous musicians, including Pat Boone. Gray has maintained a relationship with Boone throughout her life and was baptized in the singer’s swimming pool in California.
